Amino Acids

All proteins are composed of molecules called amino acids. When we consume amino acids from complete proteins or as free form supplements, the body combines them in different ways to repair and build muscle tissue and produce hormones, neurotransmitters and enzymes. As such, amino acids are often called the building blocks of life. Among the 22 amino acids that are most important to our health, development and function, nine are considered essential as the body cannot produce them. As such, we must get them from foods and supplements.
